Lillian La Plante, LMHC
Lillian La Plante is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, providing therapy services for adolescents and adults at Freedom First Psychological Services.
Lillian completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY Oneonta in 2017. She then completed her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from UAlbany in 2020.
Lillian has experience with crisis management as a result of working on inpatient psychiatric units, as well as providing home-and-community-based mental health care for adolescents with firesetting behaviors, adolescents on probation, and families involved in foster care/reunification services. She most recently conducted individual and family therapy in a private practice setting and has worked with clients ranging from ages six to seventy.
Lillian specializes in working with preteens, teenagers, and adults, especially those dealing with ADHD, depression disorders, anxiety disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, trauma, and OCD. Lillian fosters a safe and supportive therapeutic environment for clients by utilizing a Person Centered approach, and primarily utilizes CBT, DBT, and Play Therapy in order to educate and assist clients in skill development. She is a provider of LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy and an advocate for gender-affirming care.
