ABA Behavior Technician- 

Afternoons and/or Saturdays

Our Freedom First ABA Program is seeking Registered Behavior Technicians or experienced Behavior Technicians who want to make a difference in the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. We are looking for full day Saturday 9am to 4pm positions, during our clinic based social skills groups. Additional weekday after school hours may also be available.

Freedom First ABA provides support to children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Come join our team of innovative and passionate professionals who aim to provide excellent care in the Capital Region.

Position Summary:


The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Behavior Technician (BT) will provide skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of ABA to children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the home, community, and clinic settings. Essential components of this position are listed below but does not provide an exhaustive list of duties that may be assigned.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • BT's provide direct client care in 1:1 home or clinic settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements under the supervisions of the BCBA/LBA
  • BT's continuously monitor clients’ response to treatment through data collection methods written and supervised by the BCBA/LBA
  • Conduct skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments under the supervision of the BCBA/LBA
  • Technician will professionally collaborate and communicate with parents, family members, and other professionals, as needed
  • Create a fun and supportive learning environment
  • Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols
  • Promote the development of functional communication skills, social skills, play behavior, independence, daily living skills, and toilet training as needed
  • Deliver consistent, punctual, reliable service per the client’s service schedule
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Utilize safe and appropriate guidance procedures when working with clients
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment

Position Requirements:

  • RBT Certification or prior experience with ABA as a BT preferred
  • High School Diploma and background in education, psychology, applied behavior analysis, or related field preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication skills via e-mail, text, over the phone, and written
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs, if necessary
  • Comfortable with use of technology and software programs
  • Must have a passion for helping children with special needs
  • Applicant must hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation
  • Must be available to work specified shifts consistently week to week
  • Must be 18 years or older

Position Benefits:

  • Company will provide 40-hour RBT online course at no cost
  • Will provide supervision and competency assessment required for RBT exam
  • Will provide supervision to meet the requirements set forth by the BACB for individuals participating in the supervision program for BCBA, BCaBA and RBT
  • Room for advancement based on job performance
  • Competitive compensation starting at $18 per hour, based on experience
