MaryRose is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, providing therapy services for teens, adults, and families at Freedom First Psychological Services.

MaryRose is a graduate from SUNY at Albany with a Masters in Mental Health Counseling. MaryRose has previous experience in various research laboratories, and in the AMC Developmental and Behavioral Pediatric Unit. These positions have allowed MaryRose to gain knowledge of adversities within childhood development, various developmental and behavioral disorders, and utilizing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

MaryRose utilizes Dialectical Behavior Therapy because of it's foundation of balancing acceptance and change, that empowers clients to better understand and manage their emotions, improve relationships, and develop effective coping strategies in a practical and skills-based way. MaryRose also emphasizes values-based work, helping clients identify what truly matters to them and use those values as a guide for decision-making, goal-setting, and creating a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.

MaryRose prioritizes maintaining a safe and comfortable environment while holding unconditional positive regard for her clients. Multicultural competency and awareness are other priorities in her practice to ensure equitable and well-rounded treatment tailored to the unique needs of each individual.
