Joanne Knauer, LCSW-R
Joanne has many years of experience
providing clinical services to children and young adults, ages 5 through
21. Joanne has expertise working with a
diverse range of clients and a wide variety of physical and emotional
challenges, including: deafness, autism, learning concerns, emotional issues, behavior problems, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
Joanne completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Family Life from SUNY College at Oneonta, and she received her M.S.W. degree in Clinical Social Work at Fordham University, in New York City. She completed a one year Alcoholism Counselor Training Program at the Post Graduate Center for Mental Health. In addition, Joanne also is a Certified School Social Worker specializing in children's mental health issues, and she is fluent in sign language.
While living in New York City, Joanne was the Director of a school based counseling program in several public junior and senior high schools. For several years, she mentored adult college students from Empire State College in the study of Child Abuse and Family Violence.
