Hayley Humiston is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with Diagnostic Privilege providing therapy services for children, adolescents and adults at Freedom First Psychological Services. She primarily works with clients seeking support with ADHD, Autism, Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), anxiety, and executive dysfunction.
Hayley strives to create a therapeutic space grounded in compassion, creativity, and curiosity. She primarily uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) paired with art and movement to help clients rediscover their strengths, develop values-based skills to navigate struggles, and better understand the systems that get in the way. She provides individual and family-based Cognitive Behavior Therapy for ARFID (CBT-AR.) She is a certified provider of the Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS), an evidence-based social skills programs for preschoolers, adolescents, and young adults. She also holds certifications in trauma-informed creative arts therapy, mindfulness, social/emotional learning, and yoga.
Hayley earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The College of Saint Rose and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. Throughout her career, Hayley has provided skills-based and social/emotional learning programs to students across the lifespan in school and adult-education settings, and has coordinated program research/implementation promoting women’s leadership in Washington, DC and abroad.
