Jennifer Barry is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, providing therapy services for children, adolescents and families at Freedom First Psychological Services, PLLC.
Jen holds expertise in working with a diverse population, particularly those struggling with PTSD/trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional/behavioral health issues, and relationship/family conflict/divorce difficulties. Jen also specializes in working with children and adolescents on the Autism Spectrum, as well as adolescents struggling with gender identity and LGBTQ issues. Jen has extensive training experience in Play Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Progressive Counting, as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Jen utilizes approaches mostly based in person centered, attachment and family systems theories, while remaining flexible to meet clients where they are.
Jen graduated from Fordham University with her Masters in Social Work (MSW) and from SUNY Albany with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Jen has spent the last 11 years working in a variety of mental health settings in the Capital District, including residential, foster care, prevention, crisis response, school, hospital, and private practice.
